It's even less if I use one that I already have! Many poly-blends, for example, are actually softer and nicer to work with than the natural rag rug fabric strip. It has quite a rough textured feel to it which can make it difficult to ease through the hessian. I want to encourage you to think outside of the box on this. Similarly to chiffon, lace adds such a decorative, pretty touch to any rag rug project.
